Work Package 1 – Management, overall coordination, dissemination and exploitation
WP1 is dedicated to the management, coordination and monitoring of the project; it enables the efficient progress of its work, meeting the contractual obligations and the quality expectancies of the consortium. WP1 also covers a diverse set of activities that relate to dissemination and raising awareness about the project in domains of interest and building the instruments for the uptake of the results.

Work Package 2 – Landscaping & development of analysis framework for better monitoring of the research performance and assessment of societal impact
The overall objective of this work package is to produce an extended/improved version of the current analytical framework in innovation research – namely the so called R&D paradigm. This Work Package includes development of new indicators and new methods based on advanced text and data mining technologies that uses various sources and outlets of data. Finally, this work package provides the conceptual framework for the following work packages and guides the research in the subsequent working steps.
Leading partner: Fraunhofer
Work Package 3 – Creation of Data4Iimpact knowledge base platform
This work package will produce a back-end solution/platform for the project, containing all relevant data needed for the analytical activities in topic modelling, assessment of the societal impact & validation/development activities.
Leading partner: CNR
Work Package 4 – Topic modelling of throughput data related to the Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing Societal Challenge
This work package will utilise and extend already existing services initially developed as part of OpenAIRE’s Inference (by mining) workflow to mine throughput data (publications and patents) related to the Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing Societal Challenge. This WP will provide the tools, metrics and a related well-defined methodology to explore, model, analyse and visualize research and patent documents.

Work Package 5 – Assessment of the societal impact of research related to the Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing Societal Challenge analyses textual content data derived from company data, data on finalized EU research projects and their stated impacts, policy documents/guidelines, as well as social media/media conversations by combining two types of semiautomatic text analysis and machine learning methods. It performs topic modelling and deep learning approaches to analyse various output and impact level data, namely company data, data on finalized EU research projects and their stated impacts, policy documents/guidelines, as well as social media/media data.
Leading partner: HB
Work Package 6 – Community-led validation & development of tools/prototypes
WP6 will verify the produced outputs and frameworks by implementing specific pilot studies in different settings and research communities. The results of this work will feed into the development/finalisation of indicators, tools, software and other front-end outputs which will be the final products/outcomes of the project.
Leading partner: ATHENA RC
Work Package 7 – Ethics requirements
This work package is to responsible for Data4Impact compliance with the ‘ethics requirements’ that the project must comply with.
